She taught Kindergarten Art for the Seaman School district for eight years and is currently in her 5th year teaching art at Seaman High School. Recently Emily was selected to collaborate on a painting with an animal from the Topeka Zoo for the 2019 Roar & Pour. Emily teamed up with Rudy the Orangutan and together they created a stunning painting. The first stage of the painting was created by Emily as she added in the back drop, Ruby (orangutan) added in her touch, and Emily finalized the details. The painting was then auctioned off at the Roar & Pour and proceeds went to benefit the Topeka Zoo.
