This new creative class will focus on helping children explore art as a tool for mindfulness.
Students will meet for a 45-minute class each week to create together. This course is 4 weeks long.
To keep our students safe, we are limiting our classes to no more than six students. Kiddos will sit at least 6ft apart, and they will not share supplies.
Masks are highly encouraged for littles and required for anyone over the age of 10.
WEEK ONE: WHO ARE YOU?
Introduce ourselves by creating self-portraits. We will experience examples in multiple mediums before creating our own portraits on canvases.
WEEK TWO: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
Explore the world of sound and texture while discovering new ways to experience the world around us.
WEEK THREE: THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
Examine “survivor art” and explore the ways that art can be used to help us manage all sorts of big feelings.
WEEK FOUR: DREAM BIG
Our final week of workshop classes is meant to be fun and flexible! We’ll each create one of our wildest art ideas. At the end of this week’s class, students can also select one (or more) of their creations to feature in May’s First Friday Art Walk.
