Venues

The NOTO organization offers an array of venues that may be leased for private events. A NOTO Arts Center staff member is present for all rentals to ensure the event is trouble-free. Tables and chairs are available for use at most venues. All rentals are priced per hour with a three-hour minimum. Rates vary depending on day and time, with weekend rates, Friday at 3:00p.m. through Sunday, at a higher cost. A rental agreement and deposit are required for all facility rentals. Friends of NOTO receive a discount on rental fees.

Many other NOTO businesses also offer facilities that may be leased. Contact NOTO staff to learn more about the various venues throughout the district.

Arts Center

The historic NOTO Arts Center was originally built as a federal post office in 1938. It is a Classical Revival architectural style building with detailing in the window arches and a glass fanlight window over entry. Starting in the early 1980’s the building was used by various businesses until it was purchased and donated by Stan and Jody Teeter in 2014 to serve as an arts center. It is a unique venue for meetings, workshops and small events. The facility may be set in multiple options to serve your unique needs and includes use of all common areas, including the Redbud Community Room, the Morris Art Gallery, the foyer, a small serving kitchen, and two restrooms. Use of various types and sizes of tables and chairs are included; linens are available for an additional fee.

Lease fee: $75 per hour weekdays; $125 per hour weekends.

Teeter Courtyard

The Teeter Courtyard is an area of approximately 3200 square feet painted by artist Shelly Bedsaul with a fun and colorful design. A canopy of lights covers most of the courtyard and features a 16’ x 7’ stage. The courtyard can be leased as part of the Arts Center lease or independent of the Arts Center. Tables and chairs are available for use if leased as part of the Arts Center. There is an additional charge for tables and chairs if the lease is independent of an Arts Center lease.
Lease fee as part of an Arts Center lease: $25 per hour weekdays; $40 per hour weekends.
Lease fee independent of an Arts Center lease: $40 per hour weekdays; $55 per hour weekends.

Redbud Park

Redbud Park is a great venue for large special events. Formerly a parking lot that housed industrial equipment, the area was transformed in 2019 to a park that celebrates the visual and performing arts. The park features several small sculpture gardens, the pavilion, and an outdoor stage. Total size of the park is approximately 25,000 square feet, including the pavilion and stage. While the park is private property it is generally considered as public space. As such, special conditions are established for lease of the entire park when there is alcohol.

Lease fee: $225 per hour weekdays; $300 per hour weekends.

Pavilion at Redbud Park

The Pavilion at Redbud Park is a central feature of the park. Originally built as a service shed for heavy equipment, the building was refurbished as part of the park construction in 2019. The industrial character of this 1800 square foot building is balanced with innovative finishes that lend an “artsy” feel. With 13.5 feet ceilings and large barn doors in the main area, the facility offers a large, open atmosphere suitable for a variety of events. The main part of the building is an area of about 40’ x 28’ with an 8’ stage at one end. At the other end is a winding staircase that goes to a small mezzanine. The facility has two restrooms and a small serving kitchen.

Lease fee: $75 per hour weekdays; $125 per hour weekends.

Kaw Valley Stage at Redbud Park

The Kaw Valley Stage includes a round pergola structure, the deck that connects to the Pavilion, and the area on the south side of the Pavilion. The stage is available for lease only as part of the Pavilion lease.

Lease fee as part of a Pavilion lease: $25 per hour weekdays; $40 per hour weekends.
Lease fee independent of a Pavilion lease: $40 per hour weekdays; $55 per hour weekends.

Breezeway Park

A cooperative arrangement between the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation department and NOTO, the Breezeway Park is an area approximately 175’x40’ located on the east side of the 800 block of North Kansas Ave. Art sculptures greet visitors at both ends of the park, kid-friendly murals adorn the walls and the sidewalks, and colorful cement balls are scattered about the area. Rental of the park includes signage indicating private event. However, the sidewalk will remain open for public access. Tables and chairs are not provided at this location.
Lease fee: $20 per hour weekdays; $30 per hour weekends.
